Our Physicians

Lily K. Stern, MD is a cardiologist with additional expertise in advanced heart disease and transplantation. Dr. Stern graduated Cum Laude from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.  She obtained her Medical Degree at the University of California, San Francisco, graduating with admission to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and continued on at the University of California, San Francisco for her residency in Internal Medicine. She subsequently completed fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease as well as Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and she is board certified in general cardiology, internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, and echocardiography. She is board eligible for advanced heart failure and transplantation. She has specialized training in right heart catheterization and endomyocardial biopsy as well as diagnostic coronary angiography and left heart catheterization. Her clinical interests include preventive cardiology, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, as well as infiltrative cardiomyopathies, particularly evaluation and management of individuals with cardiac amyloidosis. Dr. Stern also cares for individuals with advanced cardiomyopathies who require mechanical circulatory support therapies and/or heart transplantation. She has won multiple research awards for her work in cardiac amyloidosis and heart transplant outcomes. Her research interests include investigation of epidemiologic patterns, diagnostic tests and novel therapeutics for patients with cardiac amyloidosis, patients with advanced heart failure, and those who have undergone heart transplant. She deeply cares for her patients and is invested in developing long-term relationships.
